Robert E. Sugar
Rob graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1979.
Following his call to the Ontario Bar in 1981, he has practised exclusively in the field of personal injury and property insurance litigation. Rob joined Malach & Fidler as a partner in 1993. He became a named partner at Malach Fidler Sugar + Luxenberg LLP in 2011.
Rob has extensive trial experience and has appeared at all levels of the Ontario court system, on behalf of both plaintiffs and insurers. In addition to this litigation experience, Rob has successfully resolved numerous claims on behalf of his clients through the private mediation process.
Rob has given lectures at many continuing legal education seminars and to clients in the insurance industry. He has also been an instructor at the Trial Advocacy Program at Osgoode Hall Law School.
Rob holds the firm belief that counsel should be involved in all stages of litigation, in order to be successful. As such, he personally attends almost all of his examinations for discovery, mediations and trials. The practice of personally being involved in all stages of litigation has served his clients well.
A member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Advocates’ Society, Rob is also a past member of the Ontario Bar Association, Insurance Law Section.
