Rob graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1979. Following his call to the Ontario Bar in 1981, he practised at the law firms of Raphael, Wheatley and MacPherson, as well as Wheatley, MacPherson and Sugar where he became a partner in 1985. Rob joined Malach + Fidler as a partner in 1993.
Since his call to the bar, Rob has practised exclusively in the area of tort, specializing in personal injury and insurance-related litigation. He also manages a heavy portfolio of insurance property litigation and is frequently retained by insurers faced with fraudulent claims.
Rob has extensive trial experience and has appeared at all levels of the Ontario court system, on behalf of both plaintiffs and insurers. In addition to this litigation experience, Rob has successfully resolved numerous claims on behalf of his clients through the private mediation process.
Rob has given lectures at many continuing legal education seminars and to clients in the insurance industry. As well, he has been an instructor in the Trial Advocacy Program at Osgoode Hall Law School.
A member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Advocates' Society, Rob is also a past member of the Ontario Bar Association, Insurance Law Section.
