Elaine obtained her medical degree in Beijing, China and worked as a physician for two years before being admitted to Osgoode Hall Law School in 1997. She received her LL.B. degree in 2000 and completed her articles at a boutique litigation firm in Toronto.
Elaine is a partner at Malach Fidler Sugar + Luxenberg LLP. Since joining the firm in 2002, she practises exclusively in the areas of insurance defence and personal injury litigation on behalf of both plaintiffs and insurers, specializing in cases involving motor vehicle accidents, property damages, accident benefits claims, occupiers’ liability, medical malpractice and product liability.
She has been involved in motions, trials and appeals before various levels of Courts and participates in continuing legal education seminars offered by the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and the Advocates’ Society.
Elaine speaks fluent Mandarin and maintains an active involvement in the Chinese-speaking community.
